Eastern Attends 2009 China Seafood Expo
Eastern Fisheries today announced its successful participation in the 2009 China Fisheries & Seafood Expo. Held November 3-5, the show drew over 15,000 attendees and over 700 exhibitors. Eastern was one of 19 U.S.-based companies and organizations participating in the event.
Eastern’s booth was staffed by a combination of employees from the company’s U.S. headquarters, located in New Bedford, Mass., and its wholly owned subsidiary, Far Eastern Shores Seafood, headquartered in Dalian, China. Also in attendance were employees from the company’s Zhuanghe, China, flatfish and scallop processing plant, including the operation and plant managers.
Located in Hall 3, Eastern’s booth celebrated the addition of wild-caught Alaska flatfish to its product offerings. Samples of the company’s four flatfish species – yellowfin, flathead, and rock sole and Alaska plaice – showcased not only the fish’s quality, but also the plant’s custom filleting and vacuum pack capabilities.
As the world’s largest scallop company, Eastern also represented sea and bay scallops, including U-10 and 10-20 sea scallops from the North Atlantic, in its fresh and frozen displays.
